“NEW LIFE USA” RECOVERY CENTER NEEDS HELP BUILDING AS THEY CONTINUE TO
SAVE LIVES

Building a Difference was invited to Cabool, Missouri to learn about the ministry of New Life USA, a successful non-profit drug and alcohol recovery center that is restoring the lives of youth and adults suffering in substance abuse. This “goodwill ministry” specializes in the social recovery and adoption of people in need while promoting the renewal of a healthy and productive lifestyle on their 102-acre land in Missouri.
Anyone of all ages, religious backgrounds and philosophical outlooks is welcome to seek help at the center. This one-year recovery program is completely free to those who want to be released from the chains of substance abuse, and the only requirement to get in is that they are willing to do whatever it takes start a “new life.” Once inside the program, the center has specific rules of conduct that are designed to “supplement the recovery methodology and mental conditioning, centered toward the radical change of a patient’s lifestyle,” according to their mission statement. Understanding that drug abuse is a spiritual problem, New Life USA continually seeks counsel with Christian ministers, doctors, psychologists and sociologists.
“New Life” Recovery Center began in St. Petersburg, Russia, 15 years ago when founder Sergey Matevosian knew he had to help those living and dieing horribly underground from tragic drug and alcohol abuse. Since the beginning of the program, almost 5000 people have received the help they desperately needed.
When New Life was asked to expand their successful ministry, and was given financial help to purchase 102 acres of beautiful land in Missouri, Sergey felt that God was leading him to bring New Life to America. Sergey brought with him Eugene Kirilov, a former addict and successful graduate of the program, to be the director of this new Missouri ministry. With humble beginnings they built a Men’s Center, which includes a men’s living shelter, 2 workshops, a farming storehouse, a recovery sauna house, and a ministry office, all on plush farm land where those in the program work hard to produce sellable product to help with expensive ministry costs.
The result? Addictions are broken, hearts are healed, and relationships with God are being restored. Real lives are being dramatically changed every day! So many in fact, that there is a very long waiting list just to get in! In order to take in more people seeking rescue, New Life USA desperately needs to expand… 1) with good-hearted volunteers that believe in their recovery mission, and 2) with a new Women’s Center that can immediately begin taking in women barely surviving in hopeless situations.
